Psychology Student / Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Special interest: anxiety, stress, and body image
Hello! My name is Lori McCauley-Littlejohn (she/her). I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and am a counselling psychology student. I’m Cree, and I’m from Moosonee, Ontario, in Treaty 9 territory, although I am currently living in North Bay, Ontario.
I have completed my college Diploma in Mental Health and Addictions, and my Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology, with a Minor in Gender Equality and Social Justice. Presently, I am in the process of completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I love learning and growing! I have also spent a few years working in my home community with clients from communities along the James Bay coast: Moosonee, Moose Factory, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Attawapiskat, and Peawanuck.
As a therapist-in-training, I intend to utilize a therapeutic framework that is anti-oppressive, intersectional, trauma-informed, and understands how various systemic influences have an impact on our lived experiences. I have training in narrative therapy, solution-focused approaches, motivational interviewing, culturally competent Indigenous trauma work, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I have an interest in pursuing growth in both internal family systems therapy and emotion-focused therapy. As I work on reconnecting with my Cree culture and traditional teachings, I hope that I will also someday be able to engage in decolonized therapeutic practice.
I understand how hard it can sometimes be to begin exploring therapy. My hope is to meet you where you are at in your healing journey and support you as you take the next steps along your path. If you think that we may be a good match, please reach out. I look forward to meeting you!
You can reach Lori directly at 226-240-3833 or at our main phone number (226) 253-0864, ext. 1100. Lori can also be reached via email at: lori@journeywell.ca.
