Child and Family Therapist
Special interest: trauma, attachment, parenting, self-esteem, ADHD, anxiety and depression
Hello, my name is Jane Martin but I am known as “Miss Jane” to the families that I work with. I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Journey Well Health and Wellness team. I am born and raised in Oxford County and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
It can be an overwhelming task to make sense of your children’s behaviours and know how to best support them when they are challenged with their “big emotions”. These emotions can stem from a wide variety of reasons and I am here to help you process these emotions and work together on your parenting journey.
Over the past 25 plus years, my expertise has focused on supporting children (0 to 12 years old) that struggle with attachment, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, depression and/or sensory processing. I work with children, their families and their educators to navigate their challenges with emotional regulation, behavioural difficulties/emotional release, grief and bereavement and difficulties coping in the school environment.
I am a trained certified facilitator in the Circle of Security parenting program. This is group based therapy for parents/guardians learning the importance of attachment theory between children and their family members. I look forward to bringing this to Journey Well in the near future.
Outside of work, I am a mother to two teenage boys who keep us busy. I recently became a dog momma and loving every minute of it. Physical fitness is how I decompress and relax. I enjoy baking and especially cake decorating for friends and family.
You can reach Miss Jane directly at 226-240-3841 or via our main phone number (226) 253-0864, ext. 205. Miss Jane can also be reached via email at: jane@journeywell.ca
